Baptismal site in the Jordan River where John baptised Jesus.

Travel article Nr. 5 related to the important historical places in the “Life of Jesus”.

When John baptised Jesus in the Jordan River, the legend tell us the following story. Quote from the stone inscriptions on the Baptismal site in Yardenit: “And when he came up out of water, immediately he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove, and a voice came from heaven; Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased (Mark 1, 9-11)”. Here in Yardenit, people want to be baptised again or for the first time. It is a very emotional experience for some of them. In the shop run by a Kibbutz they are selling all kind of religic objects, books and products of the area. We believe that the best selling product is water out of the Jordan River.

  8. I think it's interesting how you saw things I never saw while I was there. But from the looks of the trees, it looks like you might have been there a little earlier in the year.
